On June 11, 2026, 16-year-old pianist Kevin Tan and 12-year-old composer Carey Tan visited the Cultural Section of the Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom, accompanied by Sun Jianping, Editor-in-Chief of UK Times Publishing, and Li Hai, Director of the British Beijing Arts Troupe. They received a warm welcome from Minister Counsellor Li Liyan and his colleagues.
Carey Tan reported to the Minister Counsellor on his musical achievements in recent years and his international touring plans for the coming years. He also performed an excerpt from his original piano concerto, The Explorer, on site. Kevin Tan performed Chopin’s Grande Polonaise Brillante.
The Minister Counsellor highly praised the brothers’ outstanding talents and encouraged them to continue their efforts in composing and performing works that integrate Chinese and Western cultures. He also expressed his hope that they would go on to reach an even broader international stage.
