A SCHOOLBOY from Oxford will have his award-winning music performed by orchestras in London.

Carey Tan, a 12-year-old boarding pupil at Summer Fields School, will see his music take centre stage in two major London concerts.

On June 21, the London City Philharmonic will present a dedicated concert of Carey’s symphonic works at the Royal College of Music, with Carey appearing as both pianist and marimba soloist.

Then, on September 7, the Philharmonia Orchestra will perform two of his orchestral pieces at Cadogan Hall.

Every symphonic work being performed has already been awarded with several top international composition prizes, a distinction that has helped bring Carey’s music to the attention of conductors and ensembles across Europe and Asia.
